Each year, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) conducts test integrity investigations following the administration of the statewide English language arts and mathematics assessments that are used for accountability purposes under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA).
Following OSSE's review, an independent investigation firm reviews test integrity documentation and interviews applicable staff and students at the schools identified for follow-up. Schools that were identified as having findings had an opportunity to appeal the findings through OSSE and the Executive Office of the Mayor. OSSE shares final results with schools and conducts targeted on-site trainings for schools that required corrective action.
Below are documents related to the investigation into the 2013-2014 District of Columbia Comprehensive Assessment System (DC CAS) as well as resources that explain the testing integrity process.
