Part 1: Value English Learners’ Cultural and Linguistic Backgrounds

This session applies two key strategies to the return to school in this unprecedented time:

  1. Train all teachers on culturally-responsive approaches to supporting EL students’ wellbeing, and
  2. Encourage home language and literacy development.

Participants will walk away with actionable training tools for preparing staff to understand EL students’ experiences and enhance the school’s responsiveness to these students in the coming year.

Target audience: EL coordinators and any staff who work with EL students
