On Thursday, May 18, 2017, OSSE's Division of Health and Wellness invited LEAs to participate in a free informational webinar on the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and the Pre-School & Early Childhood Functional Assessment Scale (PECFAS).
Both the CAFAS and PECFAS are instruments designed to identify and monitor the changes in a child or youth’s functioning across life domains, over time. These tools can facilitate in:
- Identifying areas of impairment for general education students who receive Response to Intervention (RTI);
- Identifying students who are in need of behavioral supports and services, but do not have an individualized education program (IEP);
- Goal setting with parents and youth; and
- Illustrate children’s behavioral progress over time.
Audience: school administrators, social workers, mental health providers, community workers, behavior technicians, wraparound care coordinators, behavior technicians, special education teachers, and other educators.
