The Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) is pleased to announce its Multilingual Learner Institute, “Advancing Literacy, Culture and Multilingualism,” to be held on Monday, Aug. 12 at the Kellogg Conference Center at Gallaudet University. This convening will bring educators, researchers, and practitioners in the District of Columbia together to support multilingual learners enrolled in both English language acquisition and dual language programs.

The institute will provide the District’s educators the opportunity to:

·       Engage with stakeholders to reflect on best practices to develop literacy skills;

·       Collaborate with other educators to build a culture of excellence; and

·       Share promising practices to advance equity and quality education services delivered to multilingual learners.
