Educator Credentialing and Certification


New! Exams for Reading Specialist and Middle School Science Teachers 
As of Sept. 1, 2021, OSSE has adapted two new subject content exams to replace expiring exams needed for Reading Specialist (Grades PreK-12) and Middle School Science (Grades 4-8) educator certification 

In-Person Educator Credentialing Support Resumes 
In-person educator credentialing support is available to applicants at OSSE, 1050 First St. NE, from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1-5 p.m., Monday through Thursday. All visitors must sign in at the security desk in the building lobby upon arrival and wear a face mask at all times.  

School-based Health Professionals
OSSE recommends that school-based health professionals practicing as audiologists, counselors, social workers, speech language pathologists and psychologists who are currently employed at a DC public charter school or private school, contact the applicable professional licensing board within the DC Department of Health for information regarding licensing requirements to operate in those facilities.
