Stephanie Davis

Chief Information Officer

Stephanie is the Assistant Superintendent of the Office of the Chief Information Officer within the Office of the State Superintendent of Education for the District of Columbia Government. She leads a team of 87 technical specialists who are responsible for the agency infrastructure, data management, product delivery, customer support and systems training.  Along with her immense knowledge about the educational landscape, she also is very much regarded for her managerial and leadership skills. 

Stephanie is currently leading key agency initiatives that impact special education and transportation processes. She is excited about the opportunity to further improve data management practices and protocols through the data modernization project, ensure strong and viable development of applications while leading the innovative work of artificial intelligence for the agency.  

Stephanie began her career in public education at DC Public Schools (DCPS) in 2008 to provide data and application support. She served as the manager for special education data, helped to streamline processes by instituting new applications and served as a strategic partner with DCPS leadership across the divisions of Data & Accountability and Special Education to increase the overall the quality of data within the LEA.  

In 2015, Stephanie was recruited by OSSE to lead the work in acquiring a statewide student information system and making it a viable solution for LEAs. Stephanie's work grew exponentially when she was redirected to manage the special education data and applications team. She has since ensured that the quality of data in the agency has tremendously improved each year. Stephanie has served as the brainchild for numerous innovative applications and processes that results in a positive return on the investment for the agency, the District and external stakeholders. Along with her immense knowledge about the educational landscape, she also is very much regarded for her managerial and leadership skills.
