Start of School | Student Transportation

Priority Overview

Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are required to submit a series of transportation data to initiate transportation services for eligible students. Data submissions are critical for OSSE to properly prepare for the school year and support our students and school partners. The routing of eligible students and timely delivery of transportation services are dependent upon timely and accurate student data submission via the Transportation Request Form (TRF) (i.e., sharing student address, attending school, telephone numbers, etc.).

For questions, please contact Jason Campbell at [email protected].

Top Things to Know
  • OSSE DOT’s Transportation Request Form (TRF) status website provides an overview of the status of each LEA and its TRF submissions for eligible students for the upcoming 2024-25 School Year. This website provides transparency for LEAs and their leaders to monitor the TRF submissions of the students that are eligible for transportation services.

  • If your LEA has less than 85% of anticipated TRFs submitted on August 2, OSSE will be reaching out to schedule a meeting with your leadership to discuss an action plan to ensure your students requiring transportation can be served at the start of school.

  • LEAs should cancel the need for transportation when a student will not utilize the services.

  • OSSE DOT will soon open a new enrollment period for the 2024-25 School Year Monthly Parent Stipend Program. Learn more about the program here.

  • OSSE DOT provides an LEA reimbursement policy guidelines for special circumstances at the start of school to ensure all eligible students have access to transportation when their school year begins.
