April 2024

OSSE is committed to continuously creating new ways to support our teachers, both in their classrooms and beyond. Our efforts are tailored to empower educators throughout the District as they cater to the needs of the thousands of students in our public schools.

 


March 2024

Over the past three fiscal years, the District committed approximately $33 million in federal stimulus funds to expand High-Impact Tutoring programming in math and literacy. 

 


February 2024

OSSE has invested more than $30 million in experience-based learning opportunities for our high school students, including offering paid internships in high-demand careers, expanding access to dual enrollment and opening a new Advanced Technical Center.

The District of Columbia is a national leader in early childhood education, and under the leadership of Mayor Bowser, we are hyper-focused on strengthening the District’s more than 460 early childhood development facilities and further growing the supply of high-quality early care and education options.
