The District of Columbia is a national leader in early childhood education, and under the leadership of Mayor Bowser, we are hyper-focused on strengthening the District’s more than 460 early childhood development facilities and further growing the supply of high-quality early care and education options.
The District is fortunate to have the very best teachers in the nation. Our work to offer instructional supports to accelerate learning is particularly important as we continue to move from recovery to restoration.
At OSSE, we leverage programming, partnerships, policy and data to remove health barriers to learning so that people of all ages and backgrounds are prepared to succeed in school and in life.
With incredible support from Mayor Bowser, OSSE is reimagining the high school experience in the District and rolling out opportunities that we know will be game changers for our students.
As we celebrate Disability Pride Month in July, we are proud to share that OSSE has invested over $7 million in federal stimulus funds to support students with disabilities.
