What's New in 2023

Five Things to Know

  1. Starting in the 2023-24 school year, OSSE will begin collecting course-level and school-level data from LEAs, then scaling up to section-level and student-level course data collection in proceeding school years. Please see OSSE’s Course Data Collection website for more information and resources.
  2. In addition to mapping their own course catalog to the OSSE State Course Catalog V2, LEAs will submit data about their schools, such as key dates, schedule types and information about grading. The 2023-24 School Year LEA Course Data Collection Policy Guide provides more information about the course data collection template and process.
  3. LEAs can register for trainings in the OSSE Learning Management System (LMS) site, including the Course Data Collection Training for LEAs, OSSE Master Course Coding Workshop for All LEAs, and content-specific Course Coding Workshops. They should also plan to attend Course Data Collection Office Hours as needed.
  4. OSSE’s Knowledge Base Tool provides a searchable version of frequently asked questions (FAQ) and the OSSE State Course Catalog V2. As needed, LEAs can also submit questions through the OSSE Support Tool (OST) Quick Base application. (Issue Type: “Course Collection”, Status Sub-Category: “Question”).
  5. The final Course Data Collection template will be available for download and submission in the Integrated Data Submission (IDS) Sept. 1—Oct. 20, 2023. LEAs will review and certify Course Data Collection information in Qlik by Nov. 3, 2023.
