Start of School: Automated Data Transfer (ADT)

All DC local education agencies (LEAs) are required to configure and connect their student information systems (SIS) to the Automated Data Transfer (ADT). The data collection has migrated to a server-based collection from a Windows 10 client collection. This will automate the collection of student-level, section-level and student-level course data. Separately, but consistent with last year’s collection, LEAs will update their Course Catalog via the Integrated Data Submission (IDS) application.

For questions regarding Student and Section Course Data Collection through ADT, please contact Don Davis at [email protected]

Top Things to Know
  • Student demographic, enrollment, contact, course, and attendance data is collected daily from LEAs’ SIS via the Automated Data Transfer (ADT) server to populate most OSSE data systems, including the Statewide Longitudinal Education Data (SLED) system; the special education system, Special Programs; and the Integrated Data Submission (IDS) Tool Transportation Request Dashboard.
  • As LEAs transition their SIS to the 2025-26 school year, they will have access to information on incoming students across Special Programs and the Early Access Qlik applications. Importantly, LEAs will have access to students enrolled via My School DC who are eligible for transportation in the IDS Tool Transportation Request Dashboard, to allow for the timely submission of transportation requests for students new to the LEA.
  • In an effort to reduce connectivity issues, OSSE has migrated the data collection methodology to a Windows server-based collection. If you have questions about ADT or the transition to the 2025-26 school year, submit a ticket through the OSSE Support Tool (OST). OSSE continues its commitment to resolving OST tickets within five business days.
  • LEAs will include students enrolled at nonpublic schools in their Student and Section Course Data Collection reporting via ADT.
  • LEAs can register for trainings and office hours about the course data collection process on the OSSE Learning Management System (LMS) site.
