Start of School: Data Connectivity

The collective effort of DC’s local education agencies (LEAs) helps ensure that the Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s (OSSE’s) data remain robust to support operational and reporting needs across the District. To support this, all DC LEAs are required to configure and connect their student information systems (SIS) to OSSE’s Automated Data Transfer (ADT), the secure system used to automate LEA-to-OSSE data submissions. All LEAs must transmit their enrollment, demographic, contact, attendance, and course enrollment* data daily through their ADT feed to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Each LEA is assigned an ADT liaison who supports maintaining connectivity. It is the responsibility of the LEA to maintain a fully functioning SIS and ensure the appropriate expertise is in place to manage data submissions.

*LEAs will update their Course Catalog via the Integrated Data Submission (IDS) application.

Point of Contact

Top Things to Know
  • Student demographic, enrollment, contact, course, and attendance data is collected daily from LEAs’ SIS via the ADT server to populate most OSSE data systems, including:
    • The Statewide Longitudinal Education Data (SLED) system
    • The special education system, Special Programs
    • IDS Tool
    • Transportation Request Dashboard
    • OSSE Parent Portal
  • All LEAs are assigned an LEA Data Liaison, who serves as your organization’s primary point of contact for data-related support throughout each school year. This support may include, but is not limited to, assistance in resolving data errors, guidance on processes, direction on data collections/certifications, and bridging connections to other agency partners. The OSSE Support Tool (OST) is used as the primary source to submit questions or concerns to the LEA Data Liaison.

LEAs are also assigned an ADT Liaison, who is your LEA’s point of contact for all data connectivity issues as it relates to ADT and your SIS feed.
