Early Learning Services for Parents

Experiences in a child’s early years lay the foundation for school success and lifelong learning. Making the right choice for child care is one of the most important decisions a family will make. The District of Columbia provides child care services (including before and after school care) to children ages 6 weeks through 12 years, including services through age 18 for children with disabilities. Children are served in licensed centers and family child care home programs.  This includes community and faith-based providers and employer-sponsored and employer-supported organizations.
