Online Filing of Due Process Hearing Requests for Parents

Online Filing & Case Queries Coming Soon!

The OSSE Student Hearing Office is now able to provide online access to our case management system (iSight). Parents and public educational agencies will now be able to download and/or complete a special education due process complaint form on iSight and will also be able to file the required SHO copy of the due process complaint that was filed with the other party. In addition, subsequent to the filing of a due process complaint, parties, or their representatives, to a specific due process complaint will be able to file written motions in their case through iSight, and perform limited queries on case information from our web based system. ISight includes multiple protections to ensure the confidentiality of all personally identifiable information related to students and their families.

Online Due Process Complaint Form – Parties who want to complete the due process complaint form through ISight must complete the submission form with all required information regarding the student and the nature of the complaint. It is important to complete all fields that are marked with the red asterisk.

**It is important to note that the completion of the form on iSight and filing of a copy of the complaint with the SHO does not substitute for the necessary service of the complaint with the other party in accordance with the IDEA (34 C.F.R. §300.508(a)(1)).  It is the filing of the complaint with the other party that commences the action.

Case Queries – Parties seeking information regarding the status of a due process complaint can enter their case number and other applicable case information to obtain the status of a case.  This information is available only to parties of the case.

**Note: This E-Filing Format is meant to expedite the process and resolution of a due process complaint.  This format is not a substitute for communication and/or contact with an assigned hearing officer, and usage of this format does not absolve one from operating in accordance with the IDEA and District law and regulations or hearing officers’ orders and standard practices.
