Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS)
Proposed NGSS for the District of Columbia Schools, (K-12)
The final version of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) was released by Achieve on April 9, 2013. OSSE will be working closely with community stakeholders over the coming weeks and months to support the District of Columbia in preparing to adopt and implement NGSS. Together with the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics and English Language Arts, the NGSS hold the promise of transforming STEM education and preparing all DC students to succeed, in education, work, and their daily lives.
How is OSSE Getting Feedback?
In addition to holding public meetings, the OSSE is convening sessions to gather feedback from local community partners and key stakeholders. These targeted sessions are focused on capacity building and support for NGSS implementation across the District of Columbia.
