DC State Board of Education Hosts the Fourth HIV/AIDS Awareness and Education Workshop Monday in Ward One

The event will take place on Monday, April 11, at 6 pm at the Columbia Heights Education Center, located at 3101 16th Street, NW.

The District of Columbia State Board of Education and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education is hosting the fourth of eight HIV/AIDS Awareness and Education Workshops in Ward One.

The event will take place on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 6 pm at the Columbia Heights Education Center, located at 3101 16th Street, NW. Parents and teen students who live in Ward One are invited and encouraged to participate in this highly informative session with experts and stakeholders within the District of Columbia on the subject of education and awareness of HIV and AIDS in Ward One.

The workshop will include presentations from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, the Department of Health, the HIV/ AIDS Hepatitis, STD, and TB Administration, community and nonprofit organizations that are committed to the fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic among the youth in the District of Columbia.

DC State Board of Education Ward One Representative Patrick Mara will be the host for the evening will be moderating the workshop.

The workshop is one in a series of eight workshops sponsored by the National Association of State Boards of Education, in partnership with the DC State Board of Education and the Office of the State Superintendent of Education.
