DC State of Board of Education votes to extend the emergency rulemaking for graduation requirements

Washington, DC–The District of Columbia State Board of Education (DCSBOE) Public Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, September 21, 2011 will update the public on the Deputy Mayor for Education’s Race to the Top Application for The Early Learning Challenge Grant. In addition, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education will review the Emergency Rulemaking for Graduation Requirements for District of Columbia High School Seniors. The board will vote to extend the Emergency Rulemaking on Graduation Requirements that was initially approved by the board on May 18, 2011.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at 5:30 pm at 441 4th Street, NW, in the Old Council Chambers, located on the lobby level of the building. Constituents who wish to make a comment about education matters in the District of Columbia should notify the DC State Board of Education Staff in advance.  Contact the Office of the DC State Board of Education by telephone at (202) 741-0888 or by email at [email protected] 48 hours before the scheduled meeting time (Monday, September 19, 2011). Please provide one electronic copy in advance and bring 15 copies to the hearing for the State Board members to view.
