National External Diploma Program (NEDP)

OSSE provides state oversight of the National External Diploma Program (NEDP) in the District of Columbia and supports DC NEDP sites and works in collaboration with the DC Public Schools and the DC Public Charter School Board to implement the NEDP.  The NEDP allows District adults to demonstrate their high school level skills by applying their life and work experiences in real life contexts. Each candidate must demonstrate mastery of the NEDP competencies that are aligned to the College and Career Readiness standards.
