MedTech College, DC Closure

The Higher Education Licensure Commission (HELC) has been notified that Medtech College has voluntarily ceased offering postsecondary education. The U.S. Department of Education has noted its official closure date as Aug. 10, 2016.

The following information is intended to ensure that students have important information regarding the closure of the Medtech’s campus in Washington, DC.

The following options are available to students enrolled in Medtech College at the time of closure:

1. Students wishing to transfer to another institution may request an academic transcript from the HELC. We will provide one official copy or unofficial copy of a student’s transcript at no charge until Oct. 31, 2016. Thereafter, transcripts will be available at the normal cost. The Transcript Request Form is available on the HELC website.

Students should contact the institution(s) they are interested in attending directly. The institution will evaluate the student’s transcript according to their policy. The HELC is not involved in this process, except to provide the transcript as requested.

2. Students who have federal loans and will not pursue a transfer to another institution have the option of loan forgiveness. For additional information, please visit https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/about/announcements/medtech.
Please note: If you transfer to another institution you cannot pursue loan discharge.

Effective Sept. 28, 2016, all former Medtech College DC students may request transcripts from the HELC.


Radians College, DC Closure

The Higher Education Licensure Commission (HELC) has been notified that Radians College has voluntarily ceased offering postsecondary education. The U.S. Department of Education has noted its official closure date as Sept. 23, 2016.

The following information is intended to ensure that students have important information regarding the closure of the Radian’s campus in Washington, DC.

The following options are available to students enrolled in Radians College at the time of closure:

1. Students wishing to transfer to another institution may request an academic transcript from the HELC. We will provide one official copy or unofficial copy of a student’s transcript at no charge until Nov. 31, 2016. Thereafter, transcripts will be available at the normal cost. The Transcript Request Form is available on the HELC website.

Students should contact the institution(s) they are interested in attending directly. The institution will evaluate the student’s transcript according, may grant credit and charge tuition according to the institution’s policies. The HELC is not involved in this process, except to provide the transcript as requested.

Below is a list of institutions that have expressed interest in providing transfer options for former Radians students.
