In accordance with the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR), Chapter 16, Subsection 1607.2, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) collects data reported from employing and hiring of P-12 grade local education agencies (LEAs) operating in the District of Columbia regarding their employees. District of Columbia LEAs are required to notify the Office of Educator Quality and Effectiveness (EQE) team within OSSE in writing when they become aware of a teacher, pupil support personnel/school service provider, or administrator who engages in an act listed in subsection 1607.1 of the DCMR. The information must be reported to inform potential disciplinary actions issued by the District of Columbia regarding the denial, suspension, or revocation of an educator credential or application for a credential for cause, pursuant to DCMR, Section 1607.
The written notice to OSSE shall include the following information:
- Name and current or last known address of the person being reported;
- Type of credential held or applied for by the person (if known); and
- Specific act set forth in Subsection 1607.1 engaged in by the individual at issue.
