2018 Start of School Summit for Key LEA Points of Contact

Tuesday, June 12 | 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. | Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University

REGISTER

Following up on the successful 2017 Start of School initiative, OSSE is once again holding the Start of School Summit to support LEAs in becoming start-of-school ready. This event will bring together key points of contact from LEAs across the city on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Gallaudet University Kellogg Conference Hotel.

During the summit OSSE staff will share resources and tools and discuss common start-of-school and year-round challenges with data quality, data systems, enrollment, and serving special populations of students with LEA-level participants. In addition to time for LEA teams to put their knowledge into practice, OSSE will provide a resource fair with additional supports, office hours with OSSE staff members, and a culminating question and answer session to resolve any lingering questions LEAs may have. Held from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., the Start of School Summit promises to provide deep and worthwhile role-specific training for LEA staff members; more information can be found in our agenda.

LEAs interested in attending should encourage their Data Manager(s) and their main LEA-level points of contact for English learners, enrollment audit, special education, students with disabilities, and transportation to attend.

For help with additional questions, contact Annette Thacker-Bartlett at [email protected] or Erin Garratt at [email protected].
