The IEP process is an opportunity for parents, teachers, LEA personnel, and related service providers to pool their collective team knowledge and expertise to ensure that students with disabilities are provided a free appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE). It is the expectation of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) that all LEAs ensure that IEP Teams engage annually in the IEP process to develop compliant IEPs that are timely and include the participation of all appropriate IEP Team members. This one-hour webinar training will discuss:
- IEP Team composition, consensus, and participation, including the excusal process
- Parent participation
- Annual IEP review requirements
- Procedural documentation in SEDS
- IEP programmatic development, including present levels, goals, accommodations and modifications
