Description: This training is for anyone who works in any capacity with pregnant, post-partum and reproductive age women and their families. Come and learn about the major risk factors for Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, as well as the different ways that they present in the general population. You will learn how to screen, where and how to refer a mother or family, if needed and what other resources are available in the District for families of various cultures. Families, and most especially children, benefit greatly from knowledgeable professionals that are equipped to identify and refer when the symptoms and risks of anxiety and depression are evident.
