OSSE’s Division of Teaching and Learning invites all middle and high school educators who support English learners to a new professional development session designed to deepen understanding of the unique needs of dually identified students (those who are identified as both English learners and special needs students) within the context of secondary transition. This session will support educators involved in the transition planning process in understanding:

  • The importance of English learner family involvement,
  • The role of the dually identified student,
  • Methods to develop culturally responsive transition IEPs,
  • Considerations for advocating for transition services beyond high school.

School leaders, Student Services Coordinators, Special Education Coordinators, and English Learner Coordinators are strongly encouraged to register. Registration is required.
