OSSE’s Homeless Education Program will host Supporting Students and Families Experiencing Homelessness Professional Development Training for LEA Homeless Liaisons on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at OSSE, in the Eleanor Holmes Norton I, II & III conference rooms. This training will provide LEA Homeless Liaisons with important information regarding the McKinney–Vento Homeless Assistance Act as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), the Kids Ride Free program, OSSE’s revised Dispute Resolution Policy, Database Applications, and available resources (such as emergency shelters, food and educational supports) for students and families experiencing homelessness.

Limited seating is available, so we request that no more than one representative from each LEA register to attend. LEA Homeless Liaisons should register by Friday, Sept. 14, 2018.
