OSSE, in partnership with Paridad Education, will provide a five-day professional development training for new pre-K through grade 12 dual language teachers. This training will provide guidance and support to teachers about principles of effective dual language programs, the science of bilingual brain development, cultural proficiency, family engagement, and effective use of native and target language in instruction. By the end of the bootcamp, participants will be able to:
- Use instructional strategies for differentiation;
- Develop effective content and language assessment tasks;
- Foster growth in all four language domains; and
- Develop cultural proficiency for themselves and their students.
The target audience for this training is new bilingual teachers and teachers working in dual language programs.
Participants will receive six OSSE professional learning units (PLUs) for each day of participation.
