This workshop will examine the dynamics of preparing the school community for winter break and welcoming students and families back in January. The continuum of restorative practices will be reviewed with a focus on applications that address the specific needs that arise during this time of the school year and the unique challenges of the 2020-21 school year. will be an opportunity to share what has been learned during the fall about how to provide wellness supports, utilize student engagement techniques and incorporate strategies for self-care. Resources will include questions that assist students, families, and school staff in identifying self-care needs and strategies while on break; and sample circle flows for using in the first week back from winter break. Content will be adjusted to align with latest decisions regarding virtual, hybrid, or in-person learning environments.
