Novel Engineering: An Integrated Approach to Teaching Engineering and Literacy for K-8 Teachers

Last Date:

Location:
1200 First St. NE
Building:
DCPS Central Office
Room:
Room 961
Details:

Novel Engineering is a research-based approach that integrates engineering and literacy in elementary and middle school instruction. This learning method builds on literature already in use in the classroom and gives students the opportunity to deepen literacy skills by using the text as the context for engineering problems. This full day training will model integrated learning experiences and engage educators in the integrated design process. Visit www.novelengineering.org to learn more about this innovative method from Tufts University.

K-8 teachers from both DC Public Schools and DC charter schools are invited to participate in this free training, to be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the DCPS Central Office, 1200 First St. NE, Room 961.

Registration is limited to 20 participants.
