Evidence-Based Practices: Master Teacher Cadre in Secondary Special Education Institute

OSSE, in partnership with American University’s School of Education Institute for Innovation in Education, will host the 2018 Master Teacher Cadre in Secondary Special Education Institute.

The Master Teacher Cadre in Secondary Special Education (MTC-S) program provides DC public and public charter school educators with the resources and supports to develop leadership skills through participation in an intensive professional development program. This program is aimed at supporting the use of evidence-based practices to integrate within existing curriculum for secondary students with disabilities. During this institute, the 2018 Cohort of the MTC-S will share their research findings around evidence-based practices and actions plans for their schools. All educators, leaders, and school staff who serve grades 6-12 students with disabilities in both general and special education settings are invited to attend this professional development event.
Educators in the 2018 MTC-S cohort are employed in the following schools:

  • Capital City Public Charter High School
  • DC International School, Walter Reed Campus
  • Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science
  • Theodore Roosevelt Senior High School
  • Washington Global Public Charter School
  • Washington Leadership Academy Public Charter School
  • Washington Metropolitan High School

This event will take place on Saturday, June 2, 2018, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at OSSE, First Floor, Eleanor Holmes Norton Room II and III. Participants are eligible to receive four OSSE professional learning units.
