In 2014, CASE was selected through a competitive process to partner with OSSE to help lead the DC STEM Network via a four-year Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The DC STEM Network represents a community commitment to ensuring all students in DC have access to and are engaged in high-quality STEM learning experiences. We thank CASE and Carnegie Science for their leadership and support for this work. As we close out the term of this MOA, we have been inviting our local community to weigh in on the next iteration of the DC STEM Network. As part of that process, we hosted a Design Studio with our Advisory Council and Leadership Team in July to help us evaluate areas of success and areas of growth for the Network. The results of these sessions will inform the development of the selection criteria for partnership to lead the DC STEM Network.
In the interim, OSSE’s STEM team will be managing the monthly and weekly communications, DC STEM Network working groups, and the planning of the DC STEM Summit, which will take place on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2018. OSSE will announce formal next steps for the DC STEM Network at this year’s Summit.
If you are interested in supporting the process, we would welcome your participation at an upcoming DC STEM Network Design Studio Session on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018. Space is limited to 75 participants. The collaborative planning session will be facilitated by our National STEM Learning Ecosystems partner from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at OSSE, 1050 First St. NE.
