Data-Informed Decision Making for Positive School Climate

OSSE, in collaboration with Dr. Malone and Dr. Al’Uqdah of Howard University, will provide data-informed decision making trainings specifically for school based educators and staff. In this workshop, participants will explore school climate assessment measures, develop a plan to assess perceptions of school climate among stakeholders, and discuss how school climate data can be used for school improvement.

At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to

  • Define school climate, its components, and influential factors related to its assessment,
  • Explain the importance of positive school climate on student outcomes,
  • Differentiate among school climate measures to select a school climate assessment appropriate for their school setting and population and
  • Interpret school climate data for the purposes of school improvement and accountability.
