In order to support LEAs in becoming start-of-school ready, OSSE is bringing together LEA leaders and key points of contact for the second annual LEA Start of School Summit (SoS Summit), taking place on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. With an earlier timeframe, this year’s summit will focus on a seamless transition from the end of this school year to the beginning of the next, and will provide key policies, training, and resources to support LEAs in getting start-of-school ready all summer long. Workshops will focus on data quality, data systems and troubleshooting, accountability, enrollment, and serving special populations of students.
LEA teams should consist of the LEA leader (e.g., head of school, executive director), LEA Data Manager, and the main points of contact for special education, English learners, enrollment audit, transportation, and the homeless liaison. More details and registration information will be included in a future LEA Look Forward. All workshop trainings will be offered again in early August 2018 (dates TBD) for new staff hired over the summer months, as well as for those who are unable to attend in June.
