OSSE’s Health and Wellness Division is pleased to offer its 2018 Health and Wellness Skills Summit on Friday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Charles Sumner School located at 1201 17th St. NW. The summit provides an opportunity for participants to obtain professional development and skills based trainings in safety and wellness of school-aged youth in the District. Topics include: Allergy Management and Epi-Pen Administration, CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP), and Youth Mental Health First Aid. Target audiences include administrators and educators, including health and physical education teachers; school nurses or other school-based health care providers; school counselors, psychologists, or social workers; school resource officers; coaches; and child development facility staff.
Skills sessions will be offered in two blocks, morning and afternoon sessions. Please refer to the registration page for specific times of the sessions available. Please note: Comprehensive School Physical Activity Program (CSPAP) and Youth Mental Health First Aid are full day trainings; participants must be present for the full day to receive certification.
