Each year, OSSE provides college and career access, awareness and readiness professional development opportunities for DC educators, including public high school counselors and community organization staff. Formerly known as Counselor Professional Development, the re-named College and Career Readiness Professional Development aims to support OSSE’s effort to increase the city’s rate of postsecondary enrollment and completion for DCPS and public charter school students.
OSSE provides the following professional development opportunities and resources to public school counselors (both District of Columbia Public Schools and public charter schools), college access providers, community-based organizations, and other educators in the DC whose work aligns closely to OSSE’s mission to remove barriers and create pathways for public school students and District residents to achieve success in college, careers, and life. These resources are free.
