Wellness and Nutrition School Programs

School Programs is the unit within Wellness and Nutrition Services that oversees the following United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs;  National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), After School Snack Program (ASSP), Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP), Food Distribution Program (FDP) and the Special Milk Program (SMP) in addition to other local and federal nutrition programs. These programs serve to improve the health of our children by providing nutritious meals and milk in schools.  The School Programs team Mission is to provide food and nutrition services to all children and families in the District of Columbia using technology and resources so that all may be provided with healthy, well balanced, nutritious meals. Our Vision is to aid families and students, ensuring that each child receives a nutritious meal every day and no one go hungry.
