Postsecondary and Career Education

The Division of Postsecondary and Career Education (Postsec) supports programs that improve the overall postsecondary enrollment, graduation, certificate completion, and employment rates for youth and adults in the District of Columbia. Through financial and programmatic support, Postsec creates opportunities for District youth and adults to attend postsecondary institutions and earn certifications and/or college degrees. Postsec also assists residents in obtaining adult literacy proficiency, acquiring a GED, or another similar credential. Additionally, Postsec assists District youth in career awareness, exploration and preparation.

Through its postsecondary efforts, OSSE offers many programs and initiatives that promote postsecondary awareness, readiness and completion. For more information, contact Melissa McKnight, Director of College and Career Readiness at (202) 727-2824 or melissa.mcknight@dc.gov.
