Graduate Certificate Program in Adult Education
The University of the District of Columbia, Department of Education has offered a Graduate Certificate Program in Adult Education in collaboration with the Adult and Family Education (AFE) since 2000. This graduate certificate is a joint program of AFE and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), Center for Urban Education. The program is based on evidence based practice and adult learning theory. UDC is currently working with AFE to design a Master of Arts degree for adult educators that is based on the Graduate Certificate Program. The Graduate Certificate Program is not accepting new participants during this planning period. Additionally, AFE is working with the Office of Educator Licensure and Accreditation and UDC to streamline the application process for adult educators to attain certification in adult education.
