Policy Forum October 2006 – Strategies for Increasing College Access and Completion for DC Students

The October 2006 policy forum brought together DC education leaders to feature a briefing and release of the report Double the Numbers for College Success: A Call to Action for the District of Columbia.  This report shed light on the urgent need to stem the tide of high school and college dropouts and provides a set of recommended solutions to help ensure that more students in DC are graduating high school prepared to succeed in college.

Josh Baron and William Foster of Bridgespan Group, who directed the six-month research effort for this study, presented the major findings of the report. Other community and education leaders shared their perspectives on the study, as well as their ideas for addressing this urgent problem.
