Summer Institute Highlights:           

The Howard University Capstone Summer Institute, a six-week educational program, was held at Howard University ’s Blackburn Center from July 5 - August 12, 2005, from 1-5pm.   The summer institute curriculum consisted of activities relating to mathematics, English/Literature, and cultural enrichment.  Each day, while one group of students (students were placed in two groups: Alpha and Beta) participated in a mathematic related activity, the other group took part in an English/literature related activity.  The groups would then meet in the afternoon for a large group cultural activity and group discussion.  Institute facilitators and instructors included Charles Dark, Valerie Berry, Crystal Cotton-Fasion and Howard University students as Peer Counselors.
