Child Care and Development Fund Plan

The Child Care and Development Fund is a federal program authorized by the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act, and Section 418 of the Social Security Act to assist low-income families, families receiving temporary public assistance, and those transitioning from public assistance in obtaining child care so they can work or attend training/education programs.

This is achieved by increasing the availability, accessibility, affordability, and quality of early care and education services for parents, caregivers and children.  Development of the plan involves consultation and coordination with a cross-section of governmental and non-governmental agencies.
