Mayor Vincent C. Gray, State Superintendent Jesús Aguirre, and Deputy Mayor for Health and Human Services Beatriz “BB” Otero will be joined by Executive Director of Loving Daycare Nursery Annie Pankie for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at a new early learning center.

WHEN:

Thursday, November 20, 2014 12 pm

WHERE:

Loving Daycare Nursery, 1818 New York Avenue NE

BACKGROUND:

Earlier this year, Mayor Gray and Superintendent Aguirre announced recipients of the Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s (OSSE) Fiscal Year 2014 Infant and Toddler Facilities Improvement Grant. The grant awards aimed to address the unmet demand for high-quality infant and toddler childcare slots throughout the city. The grants helped the District reach a goal for increasing the number of slots through new facility construction, renovations, early childhood classroom materials, and more.
