DC State Athletic Association Announces Game of the Week Broadcast

Friday, August 29, 2014

Washington, DC -- The District of Columbia State Athletic Association (DCSAA) will promote a high school football Game of the Week this fall that will be streamed live online by DCSAA radio partner WBGR.

“This is an avenue that Mayor Gray asked us to explore and we are excited not only to be able to provide this exposure for our student-athletes but also that fans unable to attend games will be able to follow along from wherever they are,” DCSAA Executive Director Clark Ray said. “WBGR has a track record of producing first-rate content and we believe their production will be a valuable resource. I’d like to thank WBGR owner Lionel Green for his support of high school athletics in the District.”

In addition to broadcasting games, the partnership will allow D.C. high school students interested in sports management and media the opportunity to get first-hand experience in the production of each broadcast. Each week, one student from each school playing in the Game of the Week will serve as a liaison to the WBGR broadcast.

The first DCSAA Game of the Week will be Friday, August 29, as the Wilson Tigers host Our Lady of Good Counsel. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. The rest of the schedule has yet to be determined.
