Common Core State Standards Crosswalk Released

Tuesday, May 31, 2011
OSSE Releases Final Crosswalk between Existing DC Standards and Common Core

During the 2011-2012 school year, District of Columbia LEAs and schools will begin the transition to the Common Core Standards in English language arts and mathematics.  To ease the transition, the Office of the State Superintendent of Education is releasing a crosswalk resource that illustrates the alignment of the Common Core State Standards and the exiting DC standards.

Reviewed by DC teachers, the crosswalk identifies the content that is common to both sets of standards as well as those standards that represent new content.  The results can be used to map the flow of Common Core Standards implementation and prioritize related projects such as curriculum map development, course modules or professional development offerings at the LEAs and schools.
