PARCC Subclaim Descriptions

Friday, July 15, 2016

Subclaims provide data on how students performed on key parts of the PARCC assessment.
Students who performed at Level 4 overall on this assessment met learning expectations and are likely prepared for the next grade or course. Subclaim data show, by key part of the assessment, if a student performed as well, nearly as well, or not as well as the group of students who performed at Level 4 overall on a given assessment.

1 – Meets or exceeds grade level expectations
2 – Nearly meets grade level expectations
3 – Below grade level expectations

*Note that these scales are different from the scale used to describe overall performance level and are in a different order (i.e., on overall performance level, a level 5 represents meeting or exceeding expectations)
