Least Restrictive Environment Toolkit

The District of Columbia Least Restrictive Environment Toolkit is a comprehensive guide which contains information and best practices to ensure that students with disabilities receive an excellent education.

Additionally, this guide was developed to provide District of Columbia Local Educational Agencies (LEAs) and other providers that serve District students with a framework to improve their inclusionary practices and effectively serve all District students.

This publication has been developed pursuant to the guidelines of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 (IDEA 2004) and the District of Columbia Municipal Regulations - Chapter 30 (DCMR), and may be reprinted without permission.
