College Application Week Frequently Asked Questions

Thursday, July 17, 2014

College Application Week (CAW) is a national effort to increase the number of first-generation and low-income students who pursue a postsecondary education. The goal of CAW is to assist all graduating seniors, especially those who may not otherwise apply to college, in navigating the complex college admissions process and ensure that each participating student completes and submits at least one application.

Administered by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE), DC piloted College Application Week in 2012 with five traditional public and two public charter high schools. In November 2013, the program saw participation from 13 of the District’s 40 public high schools.
