Upon the completion of head counts and resolution meetings, the auditor, GKA, p.c., will provide OSSE with the resulting data for release on Thursday, Dec. 8. After the release of the updated data, all LEAs and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) are provided an opportunity to appeal findings reported as a result of the DC Annual Enrollment Audit.

The appeals process consists of two rounds, desktop and in-person. LEAs and CBOs can appeal for the following types:

• Absent Student Documentation
• Limited English Proficient
• Removal of a Student from Roster
• Addition of a Student to the Roster
• Residency Status
• Student Demographics
• Special Education Status and/or Level
• At-Risk (The at-risk student population will be refreshed to capture students who may not have been previously identified as at-risk. If there are still discrepancies, LEAs/CBOs must submit and At-Risk appeal for consideration.) 

For a desktop appeal, LEAs and CBOs must submit an appeals package which includes a roster of all students for appeal; an enrollment audit student appeals form; and supporting documentation for each appeal. 

Dec. 19, 2016 at 5 p.m. is the deadline to submit desktop appeals. Appeals forms and packages must be submitted via OSSE's 2016-17 school year Enrollment Audit Quickbase Application. OSSE encourages LEAs and CBOs to submit the complete appeals packages as early as possible to avoid delays.
