LEA Institute: It Takes a City: DC Does it Best - Early Learning Session Presentations

OSSE’s Division of Early Learning and Division of Elementary, Secondary, and Specialized Education are teaming up to host It Takes a City: DC Does it Best! This institute is for you if you are an early childhood, K-12, or adult education professional serving DC students ages 0 to 22. Participants will reflect on high quality and innovative evidence- and research-based practices in education and learn new strategies for success in improving outcomes for all children in the District. During the institute, participants will select from over 100 workshop sessions on topics including:

Strand Three: Parent, Family & Community Engagement

Strand Four: Teaching & Learning

  • Early Childhood Development:  Where Challenging Behaviors Come From and How to Address
  • Strategies for Including Young Children with Special Needs
  • Developmental Milestones for 3-5 Year Olds
  • Brain Development and Related Neurodevelopmental Disorders in Early Childhood
  • Addressing Challenging Behaviors
