Specialized Education Policy in Practice Webinar Series: Specialized Education Transportation Services Policy

The OSSE Division of Transportation (DOT) will provide special education transportation services to students with disabilities when transportation is appropriately identified and documented on an IEP as a related service.  An IEP Team makes transportation eligibility determinations for all students with disabilities on an individual basis as part of the annual IEP review, by using state-level eligibility criteria.  This webinar training will discuss:

  • The three transportation eligibility categories
  • Ordered transportation
  • Travel training
  • Appropriate discontinuation of transportation services
  • Student conduct on the bus
  • Administrative information
  • LEA documentation and submission of forms, including procedural documentation in SEDS
  • Bi-annual LEA certification of eligibility
