NAEP 2017 Universal Design & Accommodations Training

New technologies are improving NAEP’s ability to offer accommodations to increase participation and provide universal access to students of all learning backgrounds, including students with disabilities (SWDs) and English language learners (ELLs). In a digital environment, what used to be an accommodation for paper-based testing becomes a seamless part of universal design, available to all students. Along with universal design elements, NAEP is offering new accommodations for SWDs and ELLs taking the assessment on tablet and paper/pencil. School-level IEP or 504 team members and language acquisition specialists will be responsible for making decisions about which accommodations the selected students will need.

Please view the NAEP 2017 Accommodations Training webinar and slide deck to learn more about what is available for SWDs and ELLs on this year’s assessments.
