Healthy Schools Act Art & Essay Contest Winners

On October 7, a panel of eight judges convened and decided 14 winners for this year’s Healthy Schools Act Student Art & Essay Contest.  The Division of Wellness and Nutrition Services received nearly 200 entries across four grade groups (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) and expanded the awards structure to include 4th places for the K-2 and 3-5 grade groups. The winners will receive a monetary award and plaque for their school. The 14 award-winning students are invited to receive their awards and showcase their work at the Growing Healthy Schools Week kick-off event at Thurgood Marshall Academy PCHS on Monday, October 21, 2013, from 10 am-noon. All are welcome to attend the kick-off event and view the 14 award-winning entries which will then be put on display in the Wilson Building. Congratulations to all of our participants!
