Comprehension is the pinnacle of reading. The process of reading hinges on the ability to absorb the meaning of text (comprehension). This session will highlight instructional routines for building listening and reading comprehension, including effective read aloud procedures, think-alouds, grouping practices, and teaching children to be strategic readers. Participants will leave with materials that will enable them to provide training for Pre-k to Grade 3 teachers.
